God’s Righteous Way Of Life

God's Righteous Way Of Life

There is an old saying I grew up learning and trying to live out: Do what is right thing because it is the right thing to do. This sounds very motivational and challenging, but is it helpful? Obviously, we should do things that are right and good. My question, though, is what determines what is right and good? As Christians, our answer is the Bible, the Word of God. It will be up to us to make sure that our children base their values and beliefs on God’s Word too.

This blog post may seem heavy and heady, but it truly a concern on my heart for our Heritage children. While they are inside the walls of our Heritage campuses, they will hear the Word of God taught, spoken and sung over them. I love to hear testimonies from our parents when one our students shares some of their learning of the Bible. Our children sing Psalm 23 from the backseat, they know the stories in Sunday school class, and they recite the Lord’s Prayer in church services. What a beautiful thing God is doing in their tiny hearts and minds! I want this to continue always for our children. The world will try to replace God with a different set of rules and principles for life. As the parents, we must do all we can to keep our children grounded and sure of the truth of God’s Word.

This week, we will be learning about being righteous. We want to do the things that are right in the sight of God. We will learn about the life of Joseph, and hoe even when things did not go his way, he chose to do the right and godly thing. Talk to your children about Joseph this week. I pray we all would be challenged to choose God’s way in every situation of life.
